Random Facts:

  • In a past interview posted on cocoebiz.com, Shiina mentions that he uses the name “Go” instead of his real name “Masaru” because Masaru is hard to pronounce for non-Japanese speakers.
  • In that same interview, Go Shiina mentions he can write music in any genre as long as he is motivated. He also mentioned really enjoying Ayumi Hamasaki’s songs, and that that her songs are “cheerful”.
  • According to an interview with 1UP, Go Shiina originally went to school to be a doctor, but by the time he entered university he no longer wanted to be a doctor and tried to get a degree in German.
  • In an interview posted on squareenixmusic.com, Go Shiina mentions that he originally tried to copy Motoi Sakuraba’s style when he started composing for Tales of Legendia. However, after reading the script and the plans for the game, he realized Legendia was different from past Tales titles, and that realization helped him to create his own style for the game’s music.
